RACK MEASUREMENT: 4 3/4" H. - 10 1/2" L. - 6" W. CONDITION: Talk about an amazing set, this extremely hard to find opaque black glass canister set is just not something you often see. This stunning "Triple Skip" canister set comes with the tilt style canister, a set of 6 shakers and a salt box with an original holder. Although it is almost 100 years old, this set is in amazing condition. The set consists of a tilt style canister, a salt and pepper shaker with holes in their lids, 4 spice jars with solid lids, and an open salt box. The salt box is the hardest to find piece in the set. The glass canister, and shakers are all in UNDAMAGED CONDITION without chips or cracks. They are all in clean like new condition without residue or sickness inside or out. The salt box is in VERY GOOD CONDITION but does have the typical roughness on the inner rim on the sides, that is usually found with these salt boxes (we have a very good picture of this piece and you can see what we are talking about for yourself.) Please be aware - these pieces are black glass. They are not flashed or painted. The aluminum lids are in good condition with minimal wear from age and use. Sneath " Triple Skip Kitchen Items: The Sneath Glass Company was commissioned by The G. I. Sellers Cabinet Company to produce this beautiful canister set exclusively for use in Sellers kitchen cabinets (cupboards). These canisters can be found in two different distinct styles. On of the canisters has a flat bottom and sits straight. The other has a flat area that lets the canister sit at a tilt. This is the tilted-style canister. This style canister is often found in combination with a metal holder containing spice shakers, and sometimes an open salt. Note: These canisters are found in crystal and crystal with (black, red, or colored flashing). Black Amethyst (opaque glass) canisters are extremely hard to find. SNEATH CANISTERS: Sneath made at least 5 different syle canister sets th a t were used in H oosier cabinets. The fives styles were: Colonial Mission Zipper (Quaker) Triple Skip Napanee These canister sets were included in many of the Hoosier -style cabinets made from the late 1800s through the 1930s.The first Hoosier-style cabinet was made by a furniture manufacturing company named Sellers in 1898, in Elwood, Indiana. It is believed that the name Hoosier cabinet came from one of the largest manufacturers of these cabinets-- the Hoosier Manufacturing Company of Indiana. Conflicting reports attribute the cabinet 's name to Indiana's nickname, "Hooiser," where most of these cabinets were made. Several other companies, most of which were located in Indiana also made Hoosier style cabinets. The Sneath Glass Company was the main supplier of glass canisters designed for this style of cabinet.
